Road Rash...

So, my little Maddox has developed a few new habits lately. One of which is intentionally doing things that are naughty just to test our reactions. Unfortunately, his two year-old reasoning skills don't differentiate between rules that are there to keep him safe from rules of the house. Now for a little info, our new house sits on a hill and the road bends right before our house. This basically means that the drivers have no idea what's around the bend, and they're going downhill so they get going pretty quickly. Plus, we live right by a high school, so we have lots of young drivers going by (usually texting as they go). Put all of these together and one can see why I have made a big point to keep the kids well away from the road. Well, little Maddox decided that it would be a great idea to go run into the street. Luckily, Autumn was right beside him when he made his mad dash and she tackled him in our driveway. Not tackled really- Autumn grabbed him, he fell, landed on his face and slid. Autumn was horrified that she had hurt him, but better a scrapped face then ran over!! Ahhh, the joy of two year-olds....
